One of our favorite quick projects and stash busters are pillow cases. This year we are collecting pillow cases for donation to Shriners Hospital for Children in Honolulu.

There are so many ways that you can help! We appreciate any time and effort that you are able to give to help us help others in our communities!

How to Help

**JOIN US FOR A PILLOW CASE MAKING SESSION**

We have several pillow case making sessions scheduled! It’s free to join us and you’ll learn how to make a pillow case! All materials will be provided and all pillow cases made during the workshop will be donated! To sign up for any of these workshops, please call the store. We are unable to take registration requests through email or social media at this time.

**DONATE**

We are currently accepting donations of completed handmade pillow cases. Please keep your pillow cases to standard size (20″x26″) and made from kid-friendly materials. We ask that you not use trim or anything that can get caught on things or pulled off by little ones. Metallic and glittery accents on fabric prints are fine as long as it does not flake off.

We can also accept donations of fabric earmarked for pillow cases. Please make sure that any fabric donations can make at least one standard size pillowcase. Just let the fabric clerk at your store know that you are donating fabric for pillow cases and we’ll take it from there!

**HOST A PILLOW CASE WORKSHOP IN OUR STORE!**

We’re still looking for any groups or individuals who would like to host sewing parties at our store. We’d provide the space, machines, and all of the materials to make the pillow cases. You’d help to lead the “class” and give instruction when needed. At the end, all of the pillow cases would be donated. Give us a call at the store to discuss dates and times if you’re interested!

**SHARE**

Please spread the word! Share this page, or just let your friends know that we’re collecting pillow cases for donation! The more folks who know about it, the better! We love getting involved with the community!

Tutorials, Patterns, and More!

While most folks have a favorite pillowcase pattern that they might turn to or are adept at Googling or searching on YouTube for a pattern, we thought it might be nice for us to leave some of the tutorials and patterns that we like to share with you. Have a favorite that you wouldn’t mind sharing? Drop us a note at hawaiicreativesewing@gotfabric.com!
